With Miami Art Week and Art Basel officially over,  we survived the chaos that turned Miami upside down and kept us coming for more. Whether you were in Miami for the art, the rain, the traffic, or the parties – we’ve got your review on Miami’s culture phenomenon: Art Basel Miami Beach 2015. Contrary to popular belief, Miami Beach isn’t all that is in Miami. Wynwood, Design District and North, Mid Miami Beach all had satellite fairs around the main event at the Convention Center throughout Miami Art Week and Art Basel weekend. Here’s the good, the bad, and the bloody of this years’ Art Basel 2015 affair:

The Good

The many galleries open, the many satellite fairs surround the main event at the Convention Center, the parties and the art at this years’ fair made it worthwhile:

The Bad

Both, the traffic and the rain were a buzzkill to patrons attending various art fairs throughout Miami:

The Bloody

Patrons at this years’ Art Basel confused an altercation for a performance piece.

The real question remains though. Do patrons really come to Miami to enjoy and collect art? Or are they here just for the parties and celebs flocking Miami Beach? With a record breaking attendance of 77,000 at Art Basel alone – we can assure you its a little bit of both. We just hope that in future fairs, patrons will look past the parties and celebs and enjoy the art just a little more.
